A few weeks ago, we published a blog post discussing Amazon opening up it’s Subscribe & Save program to FBA sellers in various categories. The program allows customers to sign up for regular deliveries of products they reorder frequently, and receive 5% or 15% off their Subscribe & Save orders.
This week, Amazon has released some more detailed information regarding this program that is important for sellers to know.
Categories Eligible for Subscribe & Save
- Automotive Parts & Tools
- Health & Baby Care
- Home Tools & Home Improvement
- Industrial Supplies
- Lawn & Garden
- Musical Instruments
- Office Supplies
Types of Subscribe & Save Orders
There are two types of Subscribe & Save orders: sign-up orders and replenishment orders.
Sign-up orders are the customer’s initial order subscribing to a product in the Subscribe & Save program. In order for your Subscribe & Save offer to appear for a product, your offer must be the Buy Box offer.
Replenishment orders are automatically created according to the frequency set by the customer. Subscribe & Save customers can set deliveries at monthly intervals, from one to six months.
Seller Performance Affects Eligibility
Amazon explicitly states that seller performance metrics will affect your eligibility to participate in the program. “Poor performance metrics may result in the suspension of your Subscribe & Save offers or the termination of your eligibility to participate in the Subscribe & Save program.”
Amazon will notify sellers about any performance issues. These issues include, but are not limited to:
- Inventory levels that are insufficient to meet demand
- Non-compliance with Amazon’s general pricing rules
- Negative feedback
- Subscribe & Save order cancellations
