Amazon is increasing FBA seller fees, including Pick & Pack, Weight Handling, and Monthly Storage fees are rising for standard size goods.
However, for FBA sellers, the new long term storage fee may prove to be the most impactful. Amazon currently defines “long term” to be 12 months, and the new change will shorten that time to 6 months.
Beginning in August 2015, inventory units sitting in fulfillment centers from 6-12 months will incur a charge of $11.25 per cubic foot, and for 12 months or more the charge will be $22.50 per cubic foot. This means that sellers will have to pay closer attention to stale inventory in order to avoid these extra charges.
Make sure you check on your inventory age and reduce prices to help move those stale SKUs to avoid the new charge. Are you going to get hit with this new fee?
